Written question

A published question through which an MP asks a minister for information or an official position in writing.

A written question is an individual scrutiny tool submitted outside oral debate and transmitted to the responsible minister. The question and, when provided, the ministerial answer are officially published. It creates a public record but leads to no vote and does not engage Government responsibility.

An MP asks a minister when an implementing decree will apply in a particular area.

A written question is not a question delivered during Questions to the Government.
