CIVIX · partial prerender

Voting correction

A published statement noting that an MP intended to vote differently or made an operating error after a vote closed.

After a recorded vote has closed, its official totals and legal outcome cannot be changed. An MP may nevertheless publish a mise au point explaining the position they intended to express or reporting an operating error. CIVIX must distinguish this later statement from the position officially counted.

An MP recorded as abstaining states that they intended to vote against; the official result remains unchanged.

A voting correction informs the public but does not recalculate the vote.
