Rapporteur

The rapporteur analyses a bill, conducts hearings, proposes or assesses amendments and prepares a report on behalf of the committee. During committee and public sittings, the rapporteur explains the committee's position and gives opinions on amendments. The role does not give the rapporteur power to decide alone for the committee or the Assembly.

The rapporteur recommends that the committee adopt an amendment clarifying a clause.

The rapporteur speaks for the committee's work but is not the author of every provision in the bill.
