Quorum

At the National Assembly, deliberations and most votes are not automatically invalid because few MPs are present. A quorum check must be requested under the Rules of Procedure and is assessed against the required number of members. If the quorum is not reached, the vote is postponed under the applicable procedure.

Before a vote, an authorised request leads the chair to verify whether the quorum is present.

Quorum is about participation, whereas a majority is the threshold needed to adopt a proposal.
