Parliamentary term

In France, a legislature is the term of the National Assembly, normally lasting five years. It begins after legislative elections and ends at its normal expiry or following dissolution. Bills, parliamentary offices and mandates are recorded by parliamentary term, although some procedures may continue under specific rules.

The 17th parliamentary term began after the 2024 legislative elections.

A parliamentary term is not the same as an annual parliamentary session.
