Organic law

An organic law supplements constitutional provisions where the Constitution expressly requires it. Special time limits and majority rules may apply, and provisions concerning the Senate require agreement between the chambers. Every organic law is reviewed by the Constitutional Council before promulgation.

An organic law specifies how a constitutionally established institution is to operate.

An organic law is subordinate to the Constitution and is not itself a constitutional amendment.
