Formal vote

A vote solennel is a prominent form of recorded vote scheduled by the Conference of Presidents, often on a Tuesday after Questions to the Government. It allows broad participation and is preceded by organised explanations of vote. Despite its political prominence, it follows the legal majority rule applicable to the text concerned.

After several days of debate, MPs return for a scheduled formal vote on the bill as a whole.

A formal vote is a type of recorded vote, not a separate stage that replaces examination of the bill.
