Final reading
The stage at which the National Assembly may take the final parliamentary decision after persistent disagreement with the Senate.
Under Article 45 of the Constitution, the Government may ask the National Assembly to decide finally after further readings have not resolved disagreement. The Assembly chooses within the strictly limited wording and amendment options allowed by the procedure. The resulting text still awaits any constitutional review, promulgation and publication.
After renewed disagreement, the Assembly votes in final reading on the last version available under Article 45.
Final reading ends parliamentary consideration but does not mean the law is already in force.
