Committee text
The version of a bill resulting from amendments adopted by the competent committee and usually used for plenary debate.
The committee text is produced after the committee considers the bill and votes on amendments. Since the 2008 constitutional reform, it is normally the basis for public-sitting discussion, subject to constitutional exceptions. It remains open to further amendment and is not the final law.
The committee adopts several amendments, and the resulting version becomes the basis for plenary debate.
The committee text is different from the committee report and from the final text enacted by Parliament.
